can't plan. I can't make it any simpler nor can I ignore the spas that
can't answer the year end question; where am I and what are the
tax consequences of not knowing where I am? You missed. |

It is almost too late to get this quarter in line. Ask this question: I
have $35,000 in profit for the year 2006, what can I do to reduce my
tax burden?
How many of you know if you have a profit or a loss? No planning
necessary if you can't answer that question. Why? Without a clear
grasp on where you are today and the next few months you might as
well use the dart board method. Does this ring true for you? |

If it is your current state of affairs, start 2007 with a 12 month budget
so that next year you can have a different answer.
If you can answer the question, you have a week to plan a tax strategy
that may save dollars. Bunching your expenses is one way to save
tax dollars. Accelerated depreciation is another. A SEP IRA is
another.
Did you know that this time of year is the best time for equipment
suppliers? The buying comes in a panic decision to follow the
instructions of accountants and tax planners. People are actually told
to buy more to save taxes. A budget and a plan is the civilized
approach we would like all our clients take next year. Know it is
coming and make good decisions. Ah, the joys of having a budget!
